Bit rusty on codecs, so try to get an answer/hint here.
I have some old videos with the lv50 codec and mediaportal won't play them.
Opening them in graphstudio only puts in a LAV splitter, LAV Audio decoder and Default directsound device, it doesn't add a video decoder+renderer.
Manually adding the LAV Video decoder and renderer works and plays back ok.
However, when opening it in mpc, it plays fine, and connecting graphstudio to it, I see it uses a different spliter (default avi splitter?) and adds a LAV Video Decoder and Renderer.
Mediaportal codec settings is all LAV Video decoder, and using LAV Splitter.
Is there some way to tell the LAV splitter that it's ok to add the LAV Video renderer for this codec? Manually adding a key for it in the registry didn't work...
