Hi there. This may be a dumb question  but I have searched the Manual,FAQ and Forums and have not found any guides/hints on how to do this. The manual mentions that it is possible to compress a recording but I am not sure how. I've looked at the post processing setting in the config and I have enabled XVID under the TV sections as this is the format I want to compress to, but nothing seems to happen. Is this only for live playback or is it used for recordings as well. Must I use FFDShow to compress to XVID or is having the codec installed good enough? I don't mind if it is a post recording process which converts the native DVR-MS format to DIVX and then kills the orginal file, I just want something that does it automatically after I have recorded the show. Any hints/guides would be most appreciated. Thanks.

BrettLX,
did you enable the Transconding plug-in ? it is not enable "by default". To enable it, go to the mediaportal setup, select plug-in folder and activate it. It is fully customizable with many options available. When active, you will see, in your mediaportal menu a new selectable item "MEDIA TRANSCODING" (...or something like this....I don't have my mediaportal apps on this pc).
Enjoy the transcoding but keep in mind that this process takes time.....lot of time....

ciao.

Looked at it last night, but could not find the plugin you mention. It did, however give me a new jumping point for searching the forum and found the article
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mp_plugin_video_transcoding-t15953.html which is I believe what you are talking about. I see that it doesn't really support 0.2.2.0, so I have downloaded it and the RC1 for 0.2.3. Will upgrade my PVR when I get a chance and try it out. Thanks once again for the guidance.
:D
