*****UPDATE******

I've taken a second look at media portal's design, and even though I'm not a concept artist I took some time and tried my hand at a completely new and unique style for media portal (i.e. not an MCE clone.)

As you can see, the main menu has been turned into a bottom bar, in which the selected menu is highlighted and the rest are translucent. I'm aiming for a very simple theme that is incredibly straight forward and intuitive.

It's far from done and I'd really like some focused critique, I'm not even sure if such a design is even possible in the current build of media portal.

I've attached a gimp XCF so you can freely contribute with changes! Let me see what you think!

I would choose another font, but otherwise it looks interesting as an alternative.

I completely agree with the font change, and I might change the background from the dreary black look.

I think it looks a bit cluttered right now. The background is kinda busy. But that's just my opinion...

Yes, but I think it's because of the HUGE text.

On a side note, Does anyone know XAML?
I may try to learn it but having someone to help me along the way would really help!

MediaPortal 1 doesn't support XAML, MediaPortal 2 will do
