Hey folks,

I recently upgraded Media Portal from 1.0.0.0 RC1 to 1.0.0.0. When I ran the installer, I right-clicked on the installer and chose "Run as administrator". The installation completed successfully but when I try to launch Media Portal, it always brings up the configuration utility instead. Also, it appears the configuration utility will not save any changed settings. Even the dialog that shows on startup, that lets you choose between normal and advanced config modes, will still show up after checking the 'Do not ask again' checkbox.

At first I thought it was a file permissions issue, so I ensured all users had full control on the following directories:
C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal
C:\Users\All Users\Team MediaPortal

That didn't work. I wondered if the problem was related to how I ran the installer as administrator, so I completely removed it using the 'Programs and Features' control panel, then reinstalled normally. The problem still persists.

Any ideas?

Hey,
Same thing happened to me. Its probably your antivirus. I was using threatfire at the time, because it was recommended to me by someone. Switched over to avast! which I use on my day-to-day computer, works great. Haven't ever had a problem with it, and I've had it for two years. McAfee/Norton

Anyways, your antivirus is probably quarrantining the configuration file. Good luck!
