Conflict MCE/Media Portal (1 Viewer)

I am using Windows Media Center for recording TV en for playing DVD and MP3 Media Portal.

But when I have Media Portal open, Media Center won't record programmed TV?
Because I am past fourty, i forget things, like closing MP en my favorite programs are not recorded.
Is this normal?

Yes, it should be normal.
You have two programs fighting for TV tuner card.

Yes, by default MCE services are stopped when using MediaPortal
so that tv cards aren't blocked by MCE.
