Yes-BDA drivers v5.7. Device manager reports no problem. It is like if the CAM is not working, but I used it for my Terratec H7 where it decoded all channels OK.

FTA can not be viewed. I am curently testing:
1. Removed power connector to one of the cards (to see if the PSU was overloaded): Did not help
2. Tried increasing and decreasing the antenna amplifier in small steps to se if there was a to high or too low signal: Did not help
3. Moved the antenna cable directly to the wall outlet: did not help
4. Re-scan the channels with only one tuner connected: I receive a "Zugriffsverletzung bei adresse 00403651 in Modul 'FireDTVViewer.exe'. Lesen von Adresse 0301FAA9". I guess I have a HDD bad block somewhere that need to be fixed. but I don't think this makes things any worse. I have tried viewing some of the newly scanned FTA channels. Did not work.

At least now I know that only 1 tuner card, main antenna outlet, new cable did not help.

I also tried changing to another MPEG2 codec and verifying with Graphedit. The graph is rendered correct and switches between the codecs. Still no picture in FireDTV viewer. :(

And it WORKS!!! So - the problem is now isolated. The CAM is the problem. I removed the CAM and now I can watch FTA channels. But how do I proceed? I know the CAM is working, but not with my Floppy DTV. Is there a workaround? It is a Dilog Conax CAM v.5 bought a week ago.
Update: I can now watch FTA channels AND pay channels. Without having a CAM inserted!! A channel we pay 15Euro a month to see can be watched in FireDTV!!! What is happening here??? And how am I supposed to continue with finding the root cause to my problems when all channels can be watched WITHOUT a CAM???

    Hi there

I can see from your logs that the CAM is correctly detected. Something else must be wrong, however your logs are so long that it is hard to see what is happening. Please can you:

    1. Insert the card into the CAM.
    2. Stop the TV server.
    3. Delete your TV server logs (all the files in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log).
    4. Start TV server again.
    5. Attempt to tune only one FTA channel.
    6. Zip up your TV Server log folder then post the zip file here.

We will see if we can get FTA channels working with the CAM inserted first, then try encrypted channels after that.

Logs attached. It seems as if watching the channels without the CAMs inserted works fine, but WITH the CAMs inserted I get "failed to open graph" for the pay-channels in MP. FTA works fine. In the MP tv server config, however, the pay tv channels can be watched fine. The logs are from the tv server config preview. log1 is from a preview of a FTA channel and log2 from a pay channel.

Added: When channels are scanned without the CAM inserted, all is found with proper names. If they are scanned with the CAM and smartcard inserted most appear as "Unknown" and/or with strange characters instead of the channel name. It seems as if the CAM is DOING scrambling instead of DESCRAMBLE the channels. What is also strange is that the "lost connection to TV-server" from MP client seems to be working now. I can provide more logs if needed.

Now I have a new problem related to the FloppyDTV installation. When I watch a previously recorded show and press "Stop" on the Remote control, I just get a black screen instead of getting back to the folder where the recording is stored. If I press "Back" when in the black screen, I will end up in the desired folder. And the only thing I have fiddled with is channel scans and mapping channels to tv-card and pulling the CAM once in a while!!

More logs. MPlog is from tuning to a channel (first FTA then pay channel) from MP client. Couldn't spot any problems. The full log .zip is from this morning. MP Client had crashed becaues I left the CAMs inserted overnight into the tv-cards. What I don't get is this: Two recordings from a pay-channel recorded fine(Star Trek and Torchwood). Then two recordings that started simultaneously at 21:00 didn't record. And MP client crashed. Only way to keep MP client alive is to keep the two CAMs pulled out.

Actually, apparently both channels were FTA. The second one was detected as FTA when you tried to start watching it. No problems here...

It is definitely possible that the CAM is scrambling the channel names. The CAM is only needed when you try to watch a channel, not when you scan it. I will have to ask for advice about this.
Regarding the "lost connection to TV-Server": whey you say it "seems to be working now", do you mean that there is no problem any more or that the problem was happening again?

I understand what you're saying. Please do the following:
    1. Open notepad.
    2. Press "stop" on the remote control.
    3. What character is printed (or what happens)?
    4. Press "back" on the remote control.
    5. What character is printed (or what happens)?

What I see happening is this:
    1. At 1817 you tune to SVT1 on FireDTV tuner 1 (successful).
    2. At 1818 you stop watching SVT1 and tune to Channel One Russia on FireDTV tuner 1 (successful).
    3. At 1819 you stop watching Channel One Russia.
    4. At 1821 you tune to TV4 Science Fiction on FireDTV tuner 1 (successful).
    5. At 1830 you stop watching TV4 Science Fiction.
    9. At 1930 recording of Star Trek finishes and recording of Manuell is cancelled.
    10. At 2020 recording of Torchwood finishes.
    14. At 2056 the TV Server fails (and I guess the recordings stop/fail) with the following exception:

    [TvClient-TvHome: HeartBeat transmitter thread(6)]: RemoteControl - Disconnected st : at System.Environment.GetStackTrace(Exception e, Boolean needFileInfo)
    at System.Environment.get_StackTrace()
    at TvControl.RemoteControl.InvokeEvents()

    at System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart()

This is the same exception that crashed MediaPortal when you left the CAMs/cards in overnight. I don't know what could cause this. I'll have to ask for advice again...

So I think there are 2 issues:
    1. Recording/timeshifting failing on FireDTV tuner 2.
    2. Exception crashing TV Server/MP Client/recordings.

Actually .log1 tuned to SVT1, which is FTA. .log2 tuned to the Science Fiction channel, for which I need a subscription card to watch. Why it is reported as FTA, I don't know. It shouldn't be.

Regarding the "lost connection to TV-Server": whey you say it "seems to be working now", do you mean that there is no problem any more or that the problem was happening again?
Previously when I started the MP client it took only a few seconds, say 5 seconds, before I lost connection to TV-server. But during my last try I could watch two pay tv channels (TV4 science fiction and Channel One Russia) with the CAM inserted. I could also record two shows from the TV4 Science Fiction channel. It worked like a charm. But then all of a sudden I received a MP Client crash at 20:55 yesterday when House and Desperate housewives were set to be recorded. So I had to pull out the CAMs this morning to get tonights shows recorded from my other five tuners, that work really stable when the CAM is not inserted.

I understand what you're saying. Please do the following:
    1. Open notepad.
    2. Press "stop" on the remote control.
    3. What character is printed (or what happens)?
    4. Press "back" on the remote control.
    5. What character is printed (or what happens)?
I have to disappoint you on this one. After I pulled out my CAMs and restarted the TV-server the black screen after stopping a watched recording, was gone. Somehow the CAMs trigger this behaviour as a side effect when they are not working properly.

So I think there are 2 issues:
    1. Recording/timeshifting failing on FireDTV tuner 2.
    2. Exception crashing TV Server/MP Client/recordings.
Yes. But the CAMs were not stable in FireDTV viewer from the beginning, so it might be a CAM - FloppyDTV incompatibility. Or is MP replacing the CI.exe with its own CI/CAM software? I am really stuck here.
