One FloppyDTV-C at a time works just fine, but two don't. So, I have come to the same conclusion as many other. I am not sure it is a MP problem though. One card works in FireDTV viewer AND in MP. Two cards don't work in FireDTV viewer. And they don't work in MP. What would be interesting, is to see if I used the officially supported Conax CAM 4.0e. Which unfortunately is not for sale anymore. The world has moved on to Conax v5. I have sent Digital everywhere and Digital Devices mails about the problem, but received no answer. I guess that for now, FloppyDTVs and the current version Conax 5 for cable tv, only one FloppyDTV at a time can be used. Perhaps if the Mediaportal devs who collaborated with Digital Everywhere, could do some inquiries?

    Hi again

I have had another look at the DigitalEverywhere support code. There is only one function that is shared between all DE tuners, but the likelihood of that function causing problems when you have more than one tuner is basically 0%. The drivers have the greatest potential for problems. Unfortunately only DE can fix these...

I agree. I think the problem lies within the FloppyDTV drivers or firmware. Thats why I suggested that the devs that worked with Digital Everywhere last time, tried to get through. From DE's point of view, why sell DVB-C cards when there is no currently supported CAMs? I don't know about the rest of the world, but in Sweden, the Dilog Conax 5 is the CAM that is sold in all shops for cable tv (Comhem cable tv provider). There are more forum threads about two FloppyDTVs not working together, so the problem should be highlighted if MP claims to have full support for FloppyDTV. ;)

    DE does not exist anymore.
Their drivers and firmware developer left the company more than 6 months before they went broke.

It is not DE who sells them, it is DigitalDevices. So all support goes through them now.
Since you also have the issue with the bundled Software (TV-Viewer) I suggest that you contact them for support.

We do fully support them. So that "claim" is correct. Yet we are not responsible for any compatibilllity issues caused bei their firmware and/or driver.

For the record. I have no troubles at all with my config, running 1.2.0 A on windows 7.
I can record multiple channels on both cards simultaneously.
    • 1x FloppyDTV S2 + AlphaCrypt CAM + ORF Smartcard
    • 1x FireDTVS2 + EasyTV Cam + ORF Smartcard
    • 1x FloppyDTV S - no smartcard

I guess I´m a power user. Having a deaf wife makes tv a more important issue for me. I receive analog cable channels, FTA DVB-T and now trying to get DVB-C working. I have 7 tuners now. 6 working great! All channels with subtitles are necessary to make tv possible for my wife. That's why I struggle to solve my issues. I sent both DE(perhaps the firmware support engineers left DE, but there was a new driver from nov 2009 - not so long ago) and DD support cases. I was surprised to see a perfect user's guide in swedish when I unpacked the cards, that's why I think it is important for DD to know about the problems so many users seem to have with two FloppyDTVs. The officially supported Conax 4.0e is outdated in Sweden. Only Conax 5 can be bought now. I wish more users with the dual FloppyDTV issue could also send support mails to DD to ask for support for the new versions of CAMs.

Anyway - I don't think it's a MP problem. First step is to get FireDTV viewer to work. Someone should tag this thread as NO BUG as to not worry people.

And now it's time to wish all the hardworking MP crew a Merry X-mas! You guys are really making an impact with this great piece of software!! Looking forward to tinker with MP2 when it is ready!

That was 13 months ago. :)
Also I know that he did this version only as a favour, to get the Floppy and firedtv's Windows 7 compatible.

    and DD support cases.
This is the correct way since they own the rights on floppy and firedtv now. :)
