Ok, I got subtitle switching within MP working. Here's how ;) My problem was that I had been using the Gordian Knot Codec Pack (I used to do a lot of authoring & transcoding). I: -completely uninstalled all my codecs & splitters. -installed CCCP -went into Media Portal's configuration tool, looked at the control scheme for the "yellow" & "green" teletext buttons on the MCE remote (which I don't have, given I'm using rev2-alternate remote) & mapped those settings to "guide" & "live tv" buttons (I don't need DVR functionality so I sacrificed those buttons; I don't find broadcast North American TV wroth recording) -"guide" was set to "next audio" & "live tv" (to its right) was set to "next subtitle". -Media Portal was set to subtitle = on by default. With this setup, I can cycle through the audio streams & subtitle streams contained within MKV, mutant-AVI, & OGM files (i say mutant avi since the avi container was never meant to use multiple streams). I can also turn subs off with the OSG (hitting info then going to the audio/sub delay control). W00t. To anyone else who's having trouble getting external subs to work: pack them in an MKV container. w00t it works it works it works weeheehee!
