Here are some screenshots (I had the desktop resized when I took them so it's not 1280, but close enough for you to see the issues I've mentioned:

TV Series:
Look at how the buttons that's supposed to be the same size as the banners are stretched out horizontally (bigger than the banners).

Videos (list view):
It's just way to much free space not to put some nice covers there while browsing the list view. Right? *keeps fingers crossed*

Hope this is helpful.

Now I see what you mean. Why does it look like that on tv series? Do you see strange issues with for example playing now? On my screen it looks ok on tv series, I'm actually not 100% happy yet so a newer version might come anyway... So who can help to do a pure widescreen version?

Regarding videos I agree that there is a lot of free space to put thumbs. But why don't you use filmstrip or thumbpanels instead of listviews?

To me the purpose of listviews is that I can have a simple navigation on items missing cover art, I don't want to see thumbs of the default png's. For the cover art I have I prefer filmstrip view. I doubt that it will be standard Core but if you want it, it's really easy to put back in...

I haven't noticed it in any other screens, but I haven't really gotten the time to look a lot on this skin yet. I'm working on some skin files for xephyr so that's the skin I use now. I could try to have a look when I get to my HTPC.

About the tv series and the big red pieces on the sides is that you are outputting 1024x768 to you TV and then your TV is stretching that to a 16:9 format (this is called anamorphic and is the same way DVD video works, read more about it in Wikipedia). So basically, when I use 1280x720, the skin is stretched by Mediaportal to that size instead. And the TV banners are a fixed size, but the buttons behind them aren't. Do you understand what I mean?

About the videos, I actually think that the other views are better looking of course, but when you have 100+ films it's a bit tedious to go through.

While working on the skin, you should perhaps do that in windowed mode @ 1368 x 768 or what resolution you had in mind. This way you should clearly see if you have the right resolution or not.'

Yeah, I think I understand. I think the best would be if someone could help me with tv series.xml.

If you intend to rework the dimensions for true 16:9, you should keep this in the skin repository and call it 16:9 (Anamorphic) as there's a lot of people out there that has old plasmas (with 1024x768 as their input resolution) or 16:9 CRT sets. This is something that I really felt was missing when I had a CRT TV.

You need to edit myVideos.xml and change the import of "common.window.xml" to "common.window2.xml". At least I think so without having the xml file in front of me.
