Cosmetic glitch in TV home screen (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Apologies for the lack of logs, but this one is really easy to reproduce, and I'd rather let you know than sit on it!

If I watch TV in the TV home screen, when I enter the TV screen, the current program playing (in fact, you don't have to turn on TV for the bug) is shown below the TV "window". However, when the program finishes and the next program starts, this text is not updated. You can leave it for days if you like. If you exit the TV screen and go back into it, the screen is updated.

Reproducibility - every time.

Using TV engine RC3, Windows XP (not checked on Vista) with DVB cards, grabbing EPG from DVB stream.

Hopefully this will give you enough information.

Just tried this.

watching Primeval on ITV4, let it run into Santuary on same channel and the program info updated fine.

You know those logs you were talking about

When TV is on it's working but when TV is off then it's not updating at least not for me...

Okay, Mea Culpa.

It definitely doesn't update when the TV is not switched on, as per the post by johnzered. So there is still a bug!

Thanks for taking a look at it. I will double-check and add logs if there is a problem with TV on.

Yes, my mistake.

When you have TV switched on, all is fine.

However, as already confirmed by johnzered, when TV is switched off, the "current" program is not updated. I'm sure it used to be.

Since the program details shown after a while will not correspond to any program which is currently on, I feel that this should be considered to be a bug.

ok, checking this out now with RC2 to see if it ever worked with no TV running, will post back here, once the epg has updated from freeview.

Just checked this out in RC2, this has never worked, no update is done within TV homescreen of epg information or timeline.

Not sure whether bug or update to MP code, chances are it will not happen before 1.01, but lets see.

Will pass on to the powers that be, in the grand scheme of things it was boring waiting to switch over TV progs though, so might be considered low priority.

Thanks for following this up.

I don't see anything in Mantis, so I guess the team don't feel that this is high enough priority to fix??? It would probably be better to have it in Mantis even if it is not planned for fixing before 1.0.1. It would certainly make me feel more inclined to report problems!
