Hello,

I have an http link I use to see italian channels.

I don't know if I'm doing right, but between the TV server settings I can't insert this http but only m3u file.
So I had to insert this http link into VLC, from there I had to save the channel list in m3u format into a file and then import this file into MediaPortal.

This is a turn around, since a friend of mine through Kodi can insert http link directly and it works very well.
Could I do the same thing with MP?

    Not really.
You can manually create a DVB-IP channel using an HTTP URL:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_...s/Add_or_Edit_a_Channel#DVB-IP_tuning_details

However the stream would need to be compatible (ie. MPEG 2 transport stream) and you would need to know the service ID and PMT PID parameters. Most people don't know those, so that's why it's normal to have to create and scan with the m3u.

P.S. It's not hard to create m3u files manually. They can be opened and edited in any text editor (notepad etc.). ;)

Ok, I understand that, but I like to write my point of view.

I have this link (I hidden some parameters for obvious reasons):

    http://XXXXXXXXX.ddns.net:8000/get.php?username=XXXXXXXX&password=XXXXXXXXX&type=m3u_plus&output=mpegts

This link is not for a single channel, but if I use it inside VLC (for example) it connects to servers and then it resolves automatically this link in the channel lists, every channel with its own http link.

Since VLC, as I said, does this, Kodi does this, MP does not this.
I think it's like to add an option, in which you can choose to insert network URL.
For VLC, seeing the screenshot, you can do that (in italian "Inserisci un URL di rete" means "Insert a network URL").

    I hope I explained better ;)
