Could we please get a SHORTCUT plugin (1 Viewer)

It is the first plugin I did and it's still beta, please backup your mediaportal.xml

berni03 - This is GREAT - Many people will want this! I would suggest placing a post in the Plugin forum stating the facts about the plugin (just like you did here - you can copy and paste that info infact) and then here you can place a link, that way people can follow.

no, you just need the ShortcutPlugin.dll
just put it in the MediaPortal/Plugins/Windows/ folder

it should work without an xml file because there is no screen to be displayed

oh I cannot believe I am reading this!



it's 13:40 in the night and I almost feel I will switch on my HTPC and try it out!

so this will only work for ONE shortcut right?

I wonder if it would be possible to have more than one instanses of the plugin in the future (maybe a trick would be to have multiple times the dll with a slightly different name? will this work for now? - until there is support within MP to do that anyway)

what configure options are there?

I really dont believe my luck.
Anyway, it would be great if you could develop this and post it. This is a piece of functionality that should hace been here from the beginning!
Also, to the MP devs...
please consider putting the functionality for having multiple items on the homepage for a single plugin. If so, this shortcut plugin should definately be a main part of MP, and could even be used to call other plugin buttons from other screens... imagine the possibilities!

I don't think dll renaming will be enough since they all have an hardcoded ID.
