I saw the info here that states the MCE remote is natively supported, but it doesn't seem to be working. Note that I don't have MCE installed right now, I'm running XP Pro. Does that remote only work natively if running on an MCE box? If so, is there any way to make it work on XP Pro?

Also, I'm a veteral XBox Media Center user, and have a lot of my DVD's as .iso files which MPlayer plays. I tried using -fs to have it auto-start in fullscreen mode, but it just comes up with a warning then closes. Anyone know what parms are required for fullscreen mode for it?

Thanks in advance

When I plugged the USB receiver in, XP automatically installed the drivers and stated that it was working. Is there something else that needs to be installed also?

For the internal player, would I have to mount the iso manually? Also, would it be an issue if they don't reside on the machine MP is installed on?

Regarding the remote, if I just want to try out the MP built-in support for it, is there something I need to install to make it work w/MP & WinXP Pro (not MCE)? I'd think not since it's "built-in support", but I wasn't sure if there were drivers in addition to the ones XP automatically installed that I needed.

I'd prefer to use the built-in player if possible, but I'm not overly excited about installing adware (Daemon-tools). Are there any other ways of accomplishing it? What about Virtual Clonedrive, is that an option?

BTW, I got the remote working. How's this for timing... In Vista, it worked just fine. After booting into XP, the reciever light never came on when pressing a button. I changed batteries and it worked. :)
