Rather than start a new thread I thought I would post in here as it is relevant to the title topic.
Has anyone else noticed the filesizes of the png files in the thumbs\Moving Pictures folder?
I have folder.jpg and backdrop.jpg in each of my movie folders and I have enabled the option for theses to be used, though it appears these are converted to .png and thus an increase in filesize. For example, I have a backdrop.jpg for Terminator Salvation in its folder around 800KB, in the thumbs\Moving Pictures folder this is 4MB.
Why is this done? I dont see what benefit there could be converting a compressed jpg to png. The result is file which is larger and of no better quality, which takes longer to load and causes the odd slow-down/delay in loading coverart.
I could not find an option to disable this conversion.
