Can someone make head or tail of my crash logs? I've got a desktop full of them if that's any help.

So I'll be watching a video (avi). It finishes. MP crashes.
I'll watch a DVD. It crashes part way through.

This only started happening fairly recently, I don't recall any h/w changes and I have since tried reinstalling MP.

Cheers!

    Hello mr_si

The latest crash is in mscorwks.dll:
    "29/09/2012 16:17:53";"Application Error";"(100)";"Error";"Faulting application MediaPortal.exe, version 1.2.3.0, faulting module mscorwks.dll, version 2.0.50727.3634, fault address 0x0027f456.";"1000"

@Owlsroost: this seems like it could be dshowhelper related... but mr_si is running XP so I'm not sure if your updated dshowhelper DLLs can help him...

Have you checked that the hardware is OK (it's not getting too hot etc ?)

    Also, from your dxdiag.txt:

    Code:
DxDiag Previously: Crashed in system information (stage 2) & Direct3D (stage 3)

...which *might* suggest there is a problem the with the DirectX software somewhere.

mscorwks.dll seems to be part of the Windows .NET framework, so it doesn't provide much of a clue (and there is nothing useful about the crash in the MP logs that I can see).

    Tony
