It crashes after a few minutes. can't figure out why.
I can hurry into mediaportal, find the thing i want to watch, play it, and it works, but if i wait a while, it crashes when i press play.
I have no idea why. Can anyone help me?

I attached the logs.

also freezes after i've watched an episode of something, works fine until i press play on the next episode. Really annoying! I have to exit MP (ctrl shift esc) and start it again.
Anyone got an idea what happens? Ive tried to completely reinstall MP, no luck. Tried uninstalling SAF, and installing the new saf 6, no luck.
I've tried both the beta and the regular version. I use StreamedMP skin.
It's always been working before. Now it's freaking me out because i cant figure out why it freezes!

Can someone please help? Any ideas?
Thanks

The mediaportal.log file is filled with maintanence of the TV-series .jpg files... I'm not sure what all is going on there but I didn't even see you attempt to open/play a file... just a BUNCH of .jpg cacheing... I'd suggest opening MP with the debug and see how it acts when it's NOT using any plug-ins.

well, That didn't work at all.
I tried debug mode, ran a dvd ( mounted earlier in clonedrive) and it froze completely after 1 sec. Had to reboot.
But you think maybe my tvseries could be the problem? I tried to disable tvseries, and it worked normally ( except some img mounting issued, probably caused by my desperate changing in the settings, i'll fix that later)

But what is causing tvseries to crash? should i delete the database, and rebuild it? Could that solve anything?

OK, so TV-Series is the culprit -- I had that about 6 months back. In the settings you can adjust when it scans your directories, by default it's 30 seconds after opening mediaportal, or maybe after selecting TV-Series. I abandoned TV-Series back then but have restored using it about 2 months back. I had to get the proper filename format for it to begin to be useful... and YES, there's an option to CLEAR the TV-Series database on their 1st tab, top-right. I'd stay focused on the basic functionality of MediaPortal and assure it's working for you before delving into TV-Series... besides, they have their own section/threads to read/participate in.

One other thing, it seems you're running 1.2.0Beta from your logs which (in another thread) I learned there is an issue using Virtual Drives that I personally had not seen before...

Also, I've found the MTN.exe (MediaPortal Thumb-Nailer) will hog your system as well... turn them off as well for now.

i turned off the automatic scan. Now it works!
Ive also fixed the virtual drive problem, just a few settings that i'd changed earlier..
So, now im on my quest to find out why it freezes when it scans :)
Thank you so much for your help Andrew, means a lot :)
