    Hi and welcome Lee :)

First, sorry to hear that you're having problems. Have you tried to start MP in debug mode (so that all plugins are disabled) to confirm that the problem is definitely with MP rather than one of the plugins...

    Hi again

I wasnt aware of bug mode how is this done for future note.
Check the Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal folder in your start menu. There is a "MediaPortal Debug-Mode" shortcut in there. That starts the watchdog tool. There are very good instructions for using that tool -->here<--.

Also still having problems getting tv server to work.
Would be happy to help but that description is a little vague. Perhaps the best I can do is point you to the wiki.

I now have my main htpc as server and client but i just can not get my second pc to pick up the master server. I have turnned off the firewalls on both machines, tried changing the server port, put in the ip rather than the pc name and i added the server ip to the host file. Still now stream :-(

    Hi.

I too am having troubles after upgrading to 1.2.2 today. MP client seems fine, but the TV server will not start. I had the SetupTV give me a windows error towards the end of the istall saying it had stopped working. I made sure all my Windows 7 updates were up to date including SP1. The TV service or Config just will now start.

The TV server error.log reads as follows:

2011-12-29 11:52:34.178931 [(5)]: OnStart: exception applying process priority: at TvService.Service1.applyProcessPriority()
    at TvService.Service1.OnStart(String[] args)

    The TV.log shows:

    2011-12-29 15:03:54.008128 [(5)]: TV service: Starting

If I attempt to start the TV Server Config I get the windows error message saying that the SetupTV has stopped working.

The windows event view shows 2 errors, one for when I try and start the windows TV Service:

    Hi folks

@phister: sounds like there were problems with locked files during the upgrade. Please try following the instructions -->here<--.

LeeZee: seems you got your problem sorted -->here<--. For MP the client and server version *always* have to match.
