Creating an account (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I am a bit confused, maybe someone can tell me more:

I use WebMediaPortal which is really fine and I wanted to create a new account via it's interface. There it asks for a name and of course a password twice, but it also asks for an e-mail-address? What's that for?
The new account works allright, but if I open the MPExtended Configuration that account won't show up. Did I only create an account for WebMP? I thought WebMP is just a way to interact with MPExtended.
And what about that e-mail-address I was asked for? Please tell me more! Thank you!

In 0.4 the service and WebMediaPortal use different user databases: with accounts created in WebMediaPortal you can only login in WebMediaPortal, and they don't show up in the configuration program. Users created there have only access to the services, not to WebMediaPortal. In 0.5 these will be merged and you'll get the behaviour you expected.

The emailaddress is because WebMP uses Micrsoft's default membersystem implementation from ASP.NET MVC and it was a bit hard to remove it's emailaddress field. It isn't used anywhere, just enter some garbage that looks like an mailaddress.
