@DJBlu would there be any issues with dropping the MySQL database and adding to my MSSQL database as I have both installed on my server?

    Hi there,

You don't as such need to drop anything, depending on how you migrate, you just need to change your gentle config file(s) to point to the alternate DB provider.

    Hello Jay_UK

For example, a stutter happened at 14:10.
    From the TS reader log:
    18-07-2013 14:10:21.970 [18ccad50] [ 5c4] Audio Continuity error... 2 ( prev 6 )

To me this suggests the stutter is part of the recording. Therefore the issue is server side... and since you're running a custom build on the server you need to take this problem to the creator of that build. My guess is that the increased HDD activity induced by the custom data grabber is responsible, but that is entirely a guess...

I'm installing 1.4 for a friend on a single seat and I cant get the plugin to show up in the TV-Server settings. I installed MP 1.4 (from scratch), installed the 2 DJBlu updates and then copied over the Custom Data Grabber.dll to the Tv-server folder and restarted the tvservice. Still no option for the Grabber? It's a while since I updated my own setup so it could be just me but has anyone got any ideas? I'm not sure if logs are worth anything?

    Hi there,

It appears the grabbing might be causing my audio glitches (see my post above). By disabling the 3hour scheduling it seems to have solved the issue. I will perform a grab at 3am each morning instead.

When the grab was happening I was not getting dropped frames (according to Shift 1), just audio glitches. I'm surprised as this is a single seat i7 with RAM drive for timeshifting and the DB is on SSD.

I never update every 3 hours so I haven't checked this.

It's probably the TSWriter that is the issue. I will add something that throttles the data writing so it doesn't cause excessive writes.

Hi @DJBlu would this be the same as the continuity errors that I'm getting in my logs? The picture breaks up slightly and becomes pixelated. Happens either if I'm recording to a drivebender drive or a single partition. Also only seems to happen on the HD channels.

    Benoire,

Simple way to test - disable the scheduled grabs.

Then when you have pixilation, check your logs (tswriter, tsreader, evr, etc) - there should be no mention of Sky/grabbing.

Quickly looking at your logs, it is reporting a bad signal?
