It shouldn't as I'm using a similar setup in NZ and the grabbing code is fundamentally the same and mine works fine, post the logs and I'll have a look.

Thanks, here are the logs I could find / export using the debug tool, do you need any others?[DOUBLEPOST=1401007985][/DOUBLEPOST]

Also this is my TV Server config (and setting relating to EPG), unsure if the things I have ticked should be ticked!

Right now to all those in NZ, I've fixed the duplicating FTA channels in the plugin code, it should also now NOT add channels on each scan that are not defined by an LCN to the guide (i.e. the code effectively restricts any channel with an channel number greater than 800 at present) and it should respect the channel number sort when adding or deleting channels.

It currently won't do channel grouping effectively (it adds some channels but not all), not sure how to fix that currently. Still getting the occasional BAT/SDT out of range error which seems to be when the grabber has trouble parsing the data collected.

@DJBlu - if you have some time left before you leave, it would be great to know how you figured out the channel groups and how to assign the 'catbyte' number, I.e. 63 = Entertainment for Sky NZ, from the stream. It would be great as I could add the missing kids group but for future reference if new channel groups are kicked in.

Now to test the scheduling section!

A note that the NZ version is not as advanced as the UK one as I had to revert to the older code to make it work at all and so it is missing some of the refinements DJBlu made in later editions.

I'll try to get this version a little more solid and then release for testing this week.

Right so the NZ plugin scheduling is working fine without add any new fta channels... result! will look at fixing the categories if I can...

Ok this is for any New Zealand user. Please can you try this .dll as it contains my latest modifications to DJBlu's code. Grouping is still not working correctly, not only will it not add all the channels (get a lot of out index errors) but it then refuses to catch the channel numbers if enabled. Also, the replace sd with hd option doesn't work but HD/SD selection works fine via region controls. However, please test all and report back what happens.

Remember to back up any schedules from SetupTV before you delete any channels as deleting the channels will remove all the schedules you may have stored.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Hi Benoire, thanks for keeping this plugin alive - appreciate what you're doing. Are there any 'known' issues with upgrading to 1.7.1 currently, or are we generally good to go?

Wow, what a read. I've been away from MediaPortal for the last three years and circumstances have lead me back here again. I started off using MP back in its early days and I was impressed. I then found this plugin back in its very early days and could see the direction it was taking but due to constant bsod's and multiple epg drops I ditched everything and went back to Sky. Earlier this year I gave Sky the push and ended I put with a Freesat box but then I got thinking again.

I use a nettop pc with Openelec and XBMC for the movies and TV Series I have on my nas and decided that I wanted to put both of these devices into one box and the only option I had to do this was MP so I'm back again. I'm looking into putting together a new HTPC to do the job and the only downside if a that My Films isn't compatible with the new version yet but for the TV side all I want is a simple setup that an grab the freesat stuff with an epg and I'm happy.

@Chris, glad to see you have picked up the reins on this in djblu's absence and my question is really for you. In order to achieve what I want, would I be better to install 1.7.1 and scan for my channels and then use epg collector to inject the TV guide into this or, is there a way you could pick up where djblu left off on the freesat stuff and create an 'app' as such, similar to this, that would give me access to the Freesat channels and epg without having to install and svn over the top of MP. This really needs to be as simple as possible otherwise I'm gonna get a load of grief from the missus is she can't watch TV.

I look forward to your thoughts on this one and thank you for the work you have done so far.

    Stephen

    @Iceman89610

EPGcollector & release 1.7.1 would work fine for your needs, it won't add or delete channels automatically or do some of the scheduling stuff either (you would have to add epgc to the windows task list to get it to run at regular intervals.... That being said, I believe you could easily change the numbers in the sky uk code to reflect the freesat work and the source from EPGC is a good start as it will contain the right descriptor tags, and areas within the header where the data is stored.

Ultimately I'm trying to finish of the remaining NZ work but then I'm going to try and shift the plugins to the way EPGC does it as that would make it easier to add new things such as MHEG5 and would also allow the plugins to pick up some of the content not currently decoded such as Sky Box Office etc.
