Well it seems to work for me now. I'm particularly interested in testing the new UNC improvements but I'll leave that for another day since I don't want any disasters during Brazil v Germany tonight! :)

Unc seems stable and quite quick to connect. I'm using a virtual machine for my TV server and always had trouble with fake ethernet and unc unless I passed a discrete ethernet adapter through. No such trouble at the moment, although I do need to test HD channels.

UNC is great with me. Also great streaming via UNC to a Raspberry Pi running XBMC and the MediaPortal plugin.

I did have an issue with recordings in a series not playing over UNC (non series recordings were fine) this turned out to be a relatively easy to fix config issue which is referred to elsewhere in the forums, I'll provide a link if anyone needs it.

On paper UNC seems like it would be better but my HTPC really seems to struggle with it. It'll be fine for 5 minutes then it'll start stuttering out of nowhere. Like I said though, I haven't tried 1.8.0 yet so maybe that will fix the issue.

Can you build a full installer please? I'd like to get @kiwijunglist to update the first page with the 1.8 version. I'm at work now so don't have access to anything to build MP.

Certainly don't want to have broken if the 1st half is anything to go by!

I don't think a full installer will work at the moment - a clean install of 1.8 doesn't add the required plugin database columns. I'm in the code now having a look and I've put a few more log lines in.

The thing is, the absolute opposite of what I'd expect to happen actually happens so I need to step through.

I'd rather know it's consistently working, or at least know why not, before I publish a full installer. The NSS script is working though, so once I've worked it out I'll be able to post one.

Ah. Actually if I create a full installer it might just work, as long as it's solely used for the install, and the official 1.8.0 is not installed first. I'll give that a test.

The test has worked successfully. It's all about version numbers (and was a little bit about unix / Windows line feeds in SQL syntax but that's sorted now!).

Running the 1.8.0 installer on a fresh system will set your database version to the latest version. Running the merged 1.8.0 TV installer over the top will not add the SQL columns because, as far as it can tell, the database is already up-to-date so the modified update script doesn't run. Upgrading from an earlier version, such as 1.7.1 will work fine.

There's no requirement to update any my.ini files now, I've re-ordered the MySQL syntax.

I added a few extra debug lines to the TV Server setup code, they just write a couple of extra log lines to the tv setup log file. They're included in this exe, I hope nobody minds.

To repeat - this is a standalone installer. If you are installing MediaPortal for the first time, and do not have a previous version installed, use the modified installer attached if you want to use the DJBlu plugin. Do not install the official 1.8.0 then install this over the top, it won't work.

Edit - it hasn't attached the file - going to bed now but will leave the file uploading, post first thing tomorrow.

Ah well that explains why I had issues with a fresh 1.8.0 install then, good work. :)

@ears Awesome. I'll get the opening post updated with this.[DOUBLEPOST=1404896700][/DOUBLEPOST]The advantage of a full installer is that it will update LAV and Titan if there are changes at each release point.
