silly question but is there a way to import or exportshows in the tool.
I have a need to import a tv series to a database on a pc that is not network connected.
Its a standalone pc at my mothers home and there is not network there.

Just curious.

thanks

You could always just copy the db3 (database) file itself, alont with the thumbs directory. Then disable all the automatic updating and stuff on the other PC and you should be set. Idealy you have the same filestructure, but if you import all the shows fully once on a pc with internet (just use dummy files), the remote pc should delte file links when those are not found there, and instead link files it has to your imported shows. At least in theory...

this is what i would do

make your mums PC machine name the same machine name as your current HTPC
share your movies/tv series with the UNC path of your machine\sharename (if you already have then sweet) i.e \\htpcname\tv
make the same share name on your mums PC where the content will be stored
Copy content, thumbs folder, and the tvseries/moving pictures database to your mums PC

    fin!

I have it setup exactly the same as my other devices so I think what your suggesting will work.
I am just not sure of where the thumbs are stored and the device is 200 miles away so its going to take a bit of time before I can get to it.
But its easy enough for me to package up the DB and the thumbs file on to my portal drive.
    So we shall see.

    Assuming you have Windows 7

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs

Moving Pictures and TVSeries Databases are in

    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database
