I've tested your patches and I can confirm that there is an improvement in speed within Mediaportal. Mediaportal reacts faster than usual. The EPG-guide is displayed faster than before. This is really a nice speed up! :)

Yup. But as tourettes said, there is a big audience using Mp in variety of Hw, so i understand the point he made about risks that may arise by removing GC:Collects & PendingFinalizers.

I installed TvEngine also and so far only one thing apperas, but it might be there dispite these mods. Trying to tune scrambled channell i don't have rights, kills TvEngine. But as i said in earlier post, it's restarted by service manager, so it's not a show stopper. Or maybe i just clean ap channel list :)

Oh and one thing: If i'm right this was discussed somewhere: Turing Auto_Close off in SQL server options for Database, might also give some speedup.

    regs.

I gave this a try as well yesterday with the latest code, just on the Client since my server runs fairly stable as it is.
Quite good results, all around much faster right off the bat, which could been expected since most of the places I found it ran GC.Collect(); three times in a row...

Of course there could be a long term memory leak somewhere, but my TV has been running 16 hours straight now, and so far so good.

mhm why do you all have improved speed and for me i've stuttering in GUI and so on :-(

Dunno :(, but I'm wondering if there is a different method for installing new exe's & dll's. I created installation package using Build_deploy_package.bat and installed with that..

Not working very well, with svn 20892 though i haven't tried without patch. It might be that this svn has problems on its own...
