Default audio device not working (1 Viewer)

I've just had an annoying problem on an MP 1.10 installation.

I'm changing Windows default audio device to switch from speakers to headphones.
Today for some reason it would not work with MP. Headphones kept quiet, switching back to speakers restored sound in MP.
Playing sound in VLC to headphones worked as expected. So it seems MP is not picking up the correct audio device.
I swear this was working yesterday with that same MP version

Once I get a chance I'll try to reproduce this issue and provide some logs.

So here are some logs.
- start MP tune to tv
- change to headphones, no sound
- change back to speakers, sound working again
- close MP

Even when I try forcing use of that HDMI audio by setting it the default renderer in MP configuration it won't work anymore.
That's rather odd cause other applications can use that audio device just fine.
