Default MyMusic views (1 Viewer)

Is there any way to change the default views in mymusic. I know I can set the default view on albums. But I would like to have the albums default view as icons and then whenver I go into an album folder I would like it to always be list view. Also is there any way to remove the view option, so it will the view will always stay as the default and you wont be able to change it?

that will change the defailt view for the albums screen, but i would like to change the default view for when you actually go into an album folder. So when you select and album folder you will then see all the songs withing that folder in a list view.

i would also like to remove the button that allows you to change the view setting. I would like to set it up to the views i want and than not be able to change them (or have someone else change them for that matter).

You should consider using the "Artist View" which is far better. Of course you'll have to edit your mp3 tag and scan them into the database which involve a little work but IMHO it's worth it.

There are a lot of possibilies to tag accuratly and quickly your mp3 collection. I used the foobar2000 masstager plugin (it's a bit complicated but work pretty good). But there are lot's of other software free or not to do that.


I don't think there is an easy solution atm to customize MP with what you're demanding.

yeah i would like a way to lock in the views (and set default views) for the mymusic portion of media portal.

One more vote for that - it's great to have the icons for albums, but as soon as you navigate under them you want the songs in list format because they can not be read w/ the abbreviated text listed under the icon.

I will be using the artist view once I get the ID3 tags on my collection sorted out. 400 CDs converted over a period of about 8 years have all sorts of crud in the iD3s, gonna need a spare weekend for that one methinks!

There are utilities which can help, I hope you aren't planning to try and perform this task by hand. I believe some people have mentioned utilties in this forum, you will have to search.
