MediaPortal Version: 1.1.0.0

CPU Type: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 2GHz

Motherboard:
Video Card: NVidia GeForce 8600M GS

MPEG2 Video Codec: Cyberlink but have tried FFDshow too
MPEG2 Audio Codec:
h.264 Video Codec: DivX H264 but have tried FFDshow
Remote: HP MCE clone, works when I have MP configured to use General HID

I hope that's enough info. I searched the FAQ and the manual but did not find this problem mentioned.

When I set MP to use NOrmal as the default video zoom mode all is fine until I actually run MP afterwards, whether I play anything or not, the default mode always sets itself back to stretch. I can manually set the mode to anyhing I like from within a video no problem, but this choice is only remembered within that one video, and also only while it is playing or paused.

Any ideas how I can force it to default to normal mode? I tried disallowing the stretch mode entirely but that had no effect on the problem and merely stopped me from seeing the option for stretch within MP.

Not a serious problem I admit, but it hacks me off having to reset for EVERY video I watch.

My codecs come via the KLite pack (full) and I also have the Haali media splitter installed, but the problem existed before I installed that last one, so I doubt it is the cause.

Any help will be much appreciated.

bump. I just upgraded my codec pack to the latest version (6.4)... no change in the problem though.

    You forgot to add logs.
Let me guess, Are you use Intelligent Frame Correction plugin?

    romuz thanks for your reply.
I will have a look for, and post a log file ASAP.
I tried the IFC plugin in an attempt to fix this very problem but as far as I can tell, it literally did nothing at all, so I got rid of it.

Well well, looks like IFC was to blame after all. I found an IFC dll file hiding in the plugins folder while I was looking for a log file. Renamed it and set the default zoom to Normal. This time it seems to have stuck. Thanks for the help romuz.

IFC has it's own default zoom mode which can be changed in the IFC process configuration under Advanced View Mode. This is set to stretch by default, and will decide the default zoom setting under TV Zoom in MediaPortal Configuration.
