I installed version 1.20 and it detected my hybrid tv card as 2 cards (analog and dvb-t)
I was able to get digital channels but not analog. I installed windvr but it didn't help. Then I read about how to configure the hybrid card and I was able to scan for analog channels. However I had no image in the analog channels, and if I changes to a digital channel, I could not change back to an analogue (always got some error). I then tried to uninstall windvr, but the uninstallation gave me a bunch of fail errors. So I tried to delete the intervideo directory, but something was in use. So I stopped the TV servece and I was able to delete the intervideo directory. I then restarted the TV service and the server configurator. In general->encoders it still reportes inervideo as being installed. So I restarted the TV service. It still claims intervideo is installed. Anyway, at this time I noticed that although the analogue part of the tv crard was still being detected normally, the dvb-t part was now showing as an unknown type (although in the description I could see it was the dvb-t. Restarting the tv service an even the computer did not solve anything. Uninstalling and reinstalling the program did not solve anything. So i selected the "unknown" dvb-t card and deleted it. And it disappeared. So I restarted hoping it would reappear as the correct type. But it did not reapper. So I did a comple uninstall and reinstalled. And rebooted the pc several times. And restarted the tv service. And there is still no dvb-t card showing. Evenmore, the analog part is not working now at all. It even tells me that it doesn't support radio when I try to scan for channels, when I had already scanned and saved some. So it seems it does not recognise my card properly anymore. So, please help

BTW, the card still works properly in windows media center

Sounds like things are in a bit of a mess!

Let's walk through this step by step...

Configuring the card as a hybrid card solved this - that is the correct thing to do.

I installed windvr but it didn't help.

Since your tuner is a hybrid it is *highly* likely that you *do* need this.

However I had no image in the analog channels...

This is almost certainly a codec problem - how did you test? If you don't know how to manage codec merits then you should really use MediaPortal for testing, *not* the preview function in the "TV Channels" section of TV Server configuration.

This is a bug in 1.2.0b. There is a patch -->here<-- for 1.2.0b and the problem will be fixed in 1.2.0rc.

Terrible idea!

That is because you deleted the WinDVR directory rather than uninstalling properly. The encoders are still registered in Windows so that is why TV Server thinks they are still installed. You should reinstall WinDVR in the same place that it was last time.

I don't know what you've done here, but I'm guessing you've messed up the TV Server database somehow. Since you've already done a complete uninstall and reinstall I suggest you post logs using the watchdog. Use option 3 to create a zip file of all your logs and post it here.

Almost certainly because you messed up WinDVR. Reinstall WinDVR as I said above.

I forgot to tell you that after uninstalling windvr I tried unregistering all the filters left in its directory using regdrop and then deleted the directory. That is why I was surprised to see that mediaportal was still showing the intervideo filters as installed.
Also, I think I mentioned that re-installing windvr did not help at all

I finally did a windows restore to my last restore point and then reinstalled mediaportal. This fixed everything except the switching between digital and analog, for which you supplied the answer. I did not install windvr at all. If you notice my specs, I have an ati card. Once I configured the hybrid card properly, I was able to receive analog tv using only the ati codecs. I think my previous no image problem came from using intervideo codecs. And it was not exactly no image at all: I was getting like one line of image only at the top of the screen. Anyway, everything works now with the ati codecs.

I just tested the switching patch. Although I can switch from analog to digital and back to analog, switching from one analog channel to another gives me an error: noaudiovideo. Any help?

Sometimes a restart is required. Anyhow I think we can forget about that now...

Right - I didn't realise you had ATI encoders installed. I highly recommend them.

There are some problems that I know about (like the digital <--> analog bug) which I can help you with almost no information. Solutions for other problems can sometimes be guessed. In this case I'd like to help but I haven't got a clue what is going on. *Please post logs* as I requested earlier so I can get the detailed information I need to figure out what is going wrong.

Ok. Brief description. With the hybrid switching patch installed, and ati encoders, I have:
digital ch->analog ch.->digital->analog->.... etc works
digital->digital->digital works
analog->analog-> noaudiovideo error ->digital ->analog works again -> analog noaudiovideo

The logs are attached (I tried to reproduce the error a couple of times before taking them to be sure I got it). You should probably look toward the end, since I have been playing around with it and installing/uninstalling a lot.

P.S. Should I have started a new thread?
