It's not using hidir.sys, as it seems. That's the driver (4 are listed for the eHome Tranceiver) that seems to be important. So it's really a generic device. Too bad.
Wondering why it works in MCE05, tho...

Well, you can disable MCE remote support and enable HID support in configuration.exe. This gives you some functionality back, but not all buttons will work. A workaround, and an alternativ to buying a new remote, tho.

I believe this is an MCE compatible remote manufactured by Cyberlink.
Oh, I overread that part. Well, this explains it. The MCE remote part in MP 0.2 RC4 and later only supports "real" certified MCE remotes. Very sorry for that. The above workaround might help you, though. Or try sth like Girder. I bet they have a plugin for Cyberlink remotes.

This remote was included with the dell I purchased some time ago and I am having similar issues. (but have just been dealing with the remote's limited functionality)

Have any recent changes in mediaportal changed the functionality of this remote, or is this still a generally incompatible remote?
