According to this crash dump, the crash happens at a different part of the code (in fact it appears as if it happens inside regsvr32 itself)
Can you please verify if the debug version (post 89) crashes at the same point as the original one?

I have install 1.2 Beta on 2 comp. ( 1 W7 and 1 XP sp3) Both OK
I got same deploytool error on 1 XP sp3 comp.

Complet new install of Win XP, after that drivers for MB, sound and video.
Then sp3 and after that all update Windows uppdate suggest.

New try to install 1.2 Beta, same error!

MB: Asus A7N8VM400
CPU: Athlon XP
Video: Geforce 4 MX (onbord)
Sound: Nforce (onbord)

Had not checked this thread for a long time... could not quite follow the current status of troublehooting:

1) first it was thought as a dev.env problem. It was thought that the 1.2.0 beta:mpaudioswitcher.ax had been compiled in a bad dev.env. And the bug report desctiption still says so: 0003531: Some people can't install 1.2.0 beta - MediaPortal Bugtracker. So this was not the case finally?
2)The were some misc. mpaudioswitcher.ax in this thread to be tried out. Seems to have create some confusion..., apparently some of them was actually the old version of it and people thought that the fix was found? But actually was not, because it was just proving that registering the older version goes OK, but the new version does not. So it was "proven" that this problem exists only for the new version?
3)The VC redistributable version has got some debate as well. I suppose it's only related to the discussion whether MP devs would revert to the older version of mpaudioswitcher.ax which still worked ... and _if_ reverting, then the MP should also install an older version of VC which is required by that older mpaudioswitcher.ax version. So the VC version is not the a suspect for this problem?

Got those right? Unfortunately, I could not catch in this thread now, what could I do to help tracking the cause of the problem?

That system is massively underpowered for MediaPortal. I'd be surprised if you can get it to run at all.

You are right. I get a regsvr error (see screenshot). I've created another crash dump.
