Desktop shows after stopping movie. (1 Viewer)

Everytime I play a movie and then quit (pressing "stop" on the remote) it would for a split second show my desktop and then back to the Video menu.

What is causing this? Is this a normal problem? I can think of a quick fix by making the desktop the same picture as the background of the media portal skin, hide icons and taskbar. But I'm sure there's more of an elegant way?

Well, I actually have the same. Disabling DX exclusive mode solves this for me though (but with other obvious downsides).

Also I'm not sure if it's related, but after a video (or TV) stops my TV acts like its received a resolution/refresh rate change (it shows its input mode as info). Also the mouse will turn on (and not hide anymore) and always in the center of the screen. I manually have to move it out of the way after every video.

This also is cured when disabling dx exclusive mode. I always thought it was related to the crappy intel gfx card (which otherwise does surprisingly fine though)

Using XP SP2 - SVN from last friday + intel onboard gfx (don't have a pci-e gfx lying around to try it out). Any ideas?

I had the some on Vista Ultimate until I switched to EVR.

I had this problem once as well, but I can't remember how or when it fixed itself. Might have been EVR (I use vista as well).

Anyhow: It's not suppose to be that way.

Is there another option to enable it?

In my case I did not touche the exclusive mode VRM9 setting so it is still enabled. I simply checked the EVR setting.

In my case I did not touche the exclusive mode VRM9 setting so it is still enabled. I simply checked the EVR setting.

Using EVR disables the exclusive mode in the code (so no matter is it on or off )

Btw. it's most likely caused by the fact how the display drivers are handling the exclusive mode switching. At least Nvidia's old drivers did turn oof the tv out briefly when enabling or disabling the exclusive mode
