Here I even have not installed MP at all.. I have just a clean XP Pro SP2 install. Installed .. - Nvidia 91.47 drivers (for 7600GS) - Microsoft Installer - .Net 2.0 - Nvidia Pure Video Gold And tried playing back video. First time it was fine, it ran about more than 2h. I was lucky, but after a restart the video was black from the beginning. I tried MPC and all settings, none brought me the video display back. Then I went to display properties in control panel and moved the troubleshooting slider to the left. The third position from the left gave me video playback again. But the text under the slider tells me that all DirectDraw, Direct3D,etc.. accelerations are turned off now. That is not how I want to continue.. I did reinstalls 4 times this weekend. My last hope is that there are things in the post-SP2 patches that fixes the problem. Otherwise I am close to believing that I have a hardware issue. I tried different version of Nvidia drivers.. I googled the problem, but little luck. Some guys do have the same problem, but no consitent way of solving it. :-(
