To Whom it may concern.

The development of MP-TVSeries is a little one track minded on its use. Simply put - you have a product that works on media portal and thats that,

What i would like to see ( and hoping you will develop) is a client side version of your app and multi user profiles( and for all who agree, add your comment to let the developers know that you support the idea. - One guy with an idea will never work. )

I watch tv shows on my media portal in my living room, but spend a lot of time on my main computer. The issue is that tv series keeps tracks of my shows and what i have watched, but i have to crawl through a lot of tv shows manually in folder view on my main computer. I would love to be able to install media portal on my main computer also (or even a tv series client - preferable ) and link to the same database to watch shows, to see what i have already watched.

Second idea would be critical for first idea. - Multi user support

I watch shows that my girl friend doesnt and vice versa, but we also watch shows together. how about the following
1) a shared profile where we define a list of shows we watch together
2) a profile of shows that i watch but my partner does not watch and vice versa ( for how many pesons concerned )

Scenario - A person selects their own profile on access to tv series to watch their own shows. If both parties are watching shows together, they select shared profile.
If person one decides to watch a show that belongs to shared profile ( and trust me it happens a lot ), then person one changes to their own profile, so that when person 2 selects their own profile, they still have the show marked and visible as unwatched.

These i think are ideas that will set tv series apart from other similar products, and I hope you will develop unpon these

Regards, Alan

P.S, if anyone has the email address of one of the developers, i would like to submit this idea. The likelyhood is that they will not pick this up in a support forum

Regards, Alan

YEs - nice idea, and I am also maintaining two databases for both MP TV Series and Moving Pictures, although I assume that the databases can be shared across a network?

The idea of a his'n'hers profile is not a bad one, but not one I would use much, but having only one place for the updates would be nice.

I was not expecting support so very quick. Lets hope this proves to be a good idea and the developers pick up on it. after all the best programs are developed on how people intend to use them, and not how the developesr wants them to be used

A client version is one thing, but in a household that has multiple computers and users, shared profiles is a must in order for a client version to work

Thanks for support Alan

P.S, I am a network systems engineer, and happy to beta test any solutionthat may be developed for this

I think the idea will do great with MediaPortal II, where the server will be fully decoupled from the client side(s).

I have also a number of PC's at home with different users, but just one central store of information (like it should be). So it would be very nice that each would have access to the series of their preference through their chosen interface with their personal history.
This would indeed be a perfect enhancement.
