G'day,

For the Aussies on the forum, you would probably know that digital radio is being rolled out across Australia and has just been switched on in Melbourne.

Digital Radio Plus: HOME

For the last couple of years this has been trialled with 2xABC and 2xSBS radio channels and I have been able to listen to them with no problems. So, I was hoping that it would be as simple as re-scanning to pick up the new channels, but it seems not.

Anyone know what needs to be done to get the new digital radio stations available in MediaPortal. For anyone outside Australia that uses digital radio already and knows a little about it, Australia has adopted the DAB+ standard.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
David

Dab is not DVB, so you cannot access it without specialist radio equipment, never seen a dab tuner for a pc yet, at least not in the uk.

A lot of these no longer exist, such as the Modular Technology - DAB PCI card, which came into existance in 2002 and then stopped producition 2 years later, think this is one area of hardware, where internet radio just killed it stone dead.

damn, so I guess the SBS and ABC channels must have been something different again :( Was looking forward to finally being able to get radio through the HTPC. Nevermind, guess I'll have to stick to streaming over the net.

    Thanks for your reply.

    Cheers,
