Finaly I get my cards back from DD.
But, now I've got an Optupus LE card in return from DD instead of my Duoflex CT and I need to use driver 2.1.1.33 to get it to work in Windows. Its not working with the older driver. Im so sick and tired of this. Now I have 3 CAM's to, 2 more than I need because of this.

Morpheus, is it any plans to get this driverversion to work in MP?

My problem from the start was that I didn't get the CI menu to work but now its working from DD's tool. Byt not in MP.
:mad::mad::confused:

    Hi Nybbe67,

I'm actually using 2.1.1.33 with Win7x64, MP 1.1.3 and Morpheus' patch. Besides the freeze-problem I'm investigating, those drivers do work.

A problem I had in the beginning was probably connected with the "minors' protection" (German: "Jugendschutz") in the CAM menu. You have to switch this off completely. Does that help?

    cheers,
    Michael

ok, sometimes automerge is not intended ;)
    Here starts my other topic:

    Test 14:
Setup as in Test 13, but
Assigned CI-Module to tuner 1 in DD config tool. In SetupTV still no cam assignet to any tuner.
    Stress-test with favourite-fta-group:
Unfortunately crashed after about 1:20h, but no system freeze. Details are: running for about 1:20h (then crashed). Succeeded 1.786, Failed 38, Total 1.824, Avg mSec: 2.514, 1st fail: 61. The errors only "no video/audio detected" as described above.

Unfortunately this was too short to consider this as "stable". Will try again tonight...

BTW, the last entries in my error.log before the crash show:

    2011-04-09 18:40:09.314586 [(14)]: Exception :confused:ystem.ObjectDisposedException: Das SafeHandle wurde geschlossen.

This exception shows at least once per minute during the test. Anyone an idea where this comes from? Is this connected with the fact that I'm using MP 1.1.3 and at the same time a version of SetupTV, which was made for 1.2a? I'm using this other SetupTV exclusively for the stress-test. No other button clicked within it...

    Show must go on...

MJGraf, just to clarify: I have no CAM and no CI module at all, and my card is Cine S2, so no ribbon cables - just the low-profile PCIe card with 2 DVB-S tuners on it.

MJGraf, nice to hear, but its the same problem for me, as for 4 week ago. "Channel is scrambled" on the paychannels. Everything else works. But the good news is that I have full CAM support in DD's tool. Now with a SMIT Conax CAM.

Im so tired of this and thinking to try MS MC 7 instead. DD have full support on Win MC. But on the other hand I love MP!
    :(

Hi again, new test this morning.

I have collected some clean logfiles here. I've stopped the TVService, clean all logs, started the TVService, started MP tvserver config, manual control, started timeshifting a free channel (SVT1) and its working, stopped timeshifting SVT1 and start timeshifting TV3 (paychannel) and got "channel is scrambled".

The difference than before (4 weeks ago) is that I have now a full working CAM menu from DD's tool DVBCineConfig with my new SMIT Conax CAM and a new PCI bridge (Octopus LE).

Could someone take a look at the files?

    Regards
    Niklas

Hi again, this is a very, very happy moment for me! IT'S WORKING! After 3 months of sleepless nights, 3 more CAM's and 2 deliveries to DD I have a working tuner.

The last time I've forget to enable the CI in DD's DVBCineConfig for the tuners. It should be marked with a X on both tuners.
The bad thing about theese tuners from DD is lack of documentation and instructions.

Summary, the Duoflex CT, Octopus LE and CI module with a SMIT CAM works with driver 2.1.1.33 from DD and Morpheus patch.

But sometimes Im getting "could not create graph" message, not everytime, so Im still very happy that the card is working and now im going to sleep ...
    :)

@ vasilich: Sorry, completely overlooked that you have a Cine S2...
    @ Nybbe67: Congratulations!

    Back to the tests:

I repeatet Test 14 as described above. This time it crashed SetupTV after about 2:10h. But the good thing is: no system freeze! Details as follows:
Stress test with group "favourite fta channels".
Succeeded 2.784, Failed 60, Total 1.824, Avg mSec: 2.453, 1st fail: 3. All failed tunes are "no video/audio detected" as described above.

Although this test didn't meet my personal "stable-criterion" as described above, I was too curious to once again repeat this test because at least there have been no system freezes so far. There was a suspicion in my mind, which I wanted to be confirmed. And I was right...

    Test 15:
setup as described in Test 14, but
SetupTV / TVServers: CAM enabled and present for this cards: checked for tuner 1, unchecked for tuner 2
Stress test with "favourite fta channels" group:
COMPLETE SYSTEM FREEZE after about 0:40
    Succeeded 789, Failed 26, Total 815, Avg mSec: 2.713, 1st fail: 29.

    Summary:
The system freeze only happens when I have CAM enabled for at least one tuner in SetupTV.
The system freeze is reproduceable in that case.
The system freeze happens even if the stress test only tunes unscrambled channels ("favourite fta channels" group).
Assigning the CI-Module to a tuner in DD config tool does not lead to a system freeze as long as I don't assign the CAM to that tuner in SetupTV.

    Conclusion:
I'm not a programmer (any more) but my conclusion is that there must be different calls to the DD-driver in MP code for all channels (fta and scrambled) depending on whether a CAM is enablet in SetupTV or not. This different code handling - at least for me - leads to the system freezes. That means, unfortunately, that my problem seems to be different from Vasilich's problem.
I have no clue, yet, where the SetupTV crashes come from, when I don't have any CAM enabled in SetupTV. However, with no CAM enabled in SetupTV, it is reproduceable that I only have crashes of SetupTV, whereas with CAM enabled in SetupTV, I don't get crashes, but system freezes.

Morpheus: Does the above ring any bell for you? Are there any calls to the DD driver for fta channels, which are only made when a CAM is assigned in SetupTV, but not, if there is no CAM assigned?

What I could still do is assign the CAM in SetupTV and make a stress test with a group of only scrambled channels. Maybe it is specificallly connected to tuning fta channels with tuners, which have assigned a CAM...

    Michael

    ------------------------------------

    Test 16 was quick:
Setup as in Test 15, but
DD-Config-Tool: CI-Module assigned to both tuners
SetupTV / TVServers: CAM enabled and present for this cards: checked for both tuners
stress test with a group consisting of ONLY THE SCRAMBLED CHANNELS of my favourite channels group.
COMPLETE SYSTEM FREEZE after about 0:07h.
    Succeeded 256, Failed 0, Total 256, Avg mSec: 1.694

Conclusion: It doesn't make a difference if I tune to scrambled channels or fta channels. The only thing that makes a difference is the "CAM enabled and present for this cards" option in SetupTV.

The only thing I can do for now is repeat the tests with "CAM enabled and present for this cards" (a) checked for both tuners and (b) unchecked for both tuners to reproduce the system freeze some more times. I don't know what else I could do. Any suggestions? Shall I post some more logs for (a) and (b)? Is there a "debug log option" for TVServer as well so that the logs contain some more info?

Any comment is really appreciated. I'm running out of ideas...

    Thanks,
    Michael

    --------------------------------------------------------------

My whole theory just got destroyed: I got a system freeze with CI-Module assigned to both tuners in DD config tool, but no CAM assigned to any tuner in SetupTV. I'm still convinced that it has something to do with those two options in DD config tool and SetupTV. Will report back later with a more systematic approach regarding those options...

Any news on the freez problem? Is anyone working on this?

If it helps, the problem is also reproduceable with md*, for those who don't have a CAM-module for testing.

    Hi DerPat,

actually, during the week (unfortunately) my real world profession takes too much time to conduct the tests; in particular, because these tests are quite time consuming. But I'll definitely continue with it - it just takes a little bit more time...

In the end, I think, it must be a driver problem, because whatever MP does, it must not freeze the whole system - unless there is a bug in the DD-driver, MP makes calls to. That means that even if I find the reason, the only way to solve it from MP's side would be to change MP's calls to the driver in a way that the bug in the driver is not triggered. I have no idea, whether the MP team is willing to include such a code change, because this is nothing more than a "workaraound". But maybe my tests would make it easier for DD to find the bug in their driver. This would be the ideal solution...

    Hi again everyone!
Now I have moved out my Floppy DTV card and replaced it with my Duoflex card in my real HTPC.
Now I have a nearly working TV server with my Duoflex CT+OctopusLE+CI module (driver version 2.1.1.33) but I have problem with 1 channel, I've got "could not create graph" when I start the channel.
I have colelcted my logfiles in this order:
    - Stop the TV service
    - Clean out the loggfiles
    - Start TV service
    - Start timeshifting TV6 from TV Server config
    - Got "Could not create graph"
    - Zipped the loggfiles and attached here.

Every other channel works fine. TV6 isn't a paychannel, its free. All my paychannel works fine.
It should be working, I have a Floppy DTV card before, fully working on every channel. And it was working on my test pc.

I have made a full channelsearch two times, same results.

Could someone take a look at the loggfiles?

    Best regards
    Nybbe
