Hi all,

I am getting error when i watch tv. I can still watch tv i just hear windows error sound and after i minimize MP to tray i see error. Attached full MP error.log
Exception :confused:ystem.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.Font.OnLostDevice()

The strange thing is that this happens on 2 PCS, both have nvidia GPU and nvidiua pure video codecs.
I tried to select keep Mp allways on Top in MP configuratiuon general settings but still the same. And it usually happens after watching at least 5 minutes or when MP was minimized for a while.
I updated directX to november 2008 version but no joy.
Any suggestions?

I get this on my Nvidia 7600GS too. I thought it was a Vista problem, but you have XP!! That means it could be a Nvidia problem.
::Minimize-restore broken in vista::
As long as we don't minimize to tray, we're good. I'm using WindowsKey+D to minimize instead. It's not as good as minimizing to tray (with pause/resume) but there are no errors minimizing this way.

Do you notice slow restore from minimized too? And sometimes a white screen, and some textures missing?

Hi Swede,
I overcome this by disabling error reporting functionality in xp, control panel->system->advanced tab->error reporting->select disable error reporting option. This way error doesn't show and everything is fine.

I tried disabling error reporting in local group policy when I tried MP on windows 7 but it didn't work for me so this might not work for you as you use vista which is similar to windows 7. Just google disable windows error reporting in vista and I am sure you will find instructions on how to do that.
Now I do not use minimize functionality as there is no need for me any longer but I didn't notice any white screen during maximize and speed was pretty good.

Hope you will get it sorted!
