Hello Everybody

I experience a problem with DirectX after MP comes back from Standy (both S3 or S4). I posted the error message which I can find in the log below.

Before standby everything works just fine. No error messages in the log. When viewing a TV program I usally have aroung 20% CPU time assigned to MP.

After coming back from Standby the Recording and other functions from MP work fine. Only when I switch on the TV then the system slows down dramaticly and MP uses 90-99% of the CPU and eventually hangs up. I suspect its related that DirectX doesnt work properly anymore. After a reboot everything is fine again until it returns from the next Standby. S3 or S4 lead to the same problem.

As Graphicscard I use a Asus EN6200LE TC256/TD with GeForce6200.

Does anyone have any idea whats goes wrong here?

Thanks for suggestions how to dig further because I realy would like to get standy working.

Thanks, T

OK, I upgraded to the latest SVN 11379 dated 10-28-2006 and the problem is the same. After standby without watching any TV the MP takes about 50% of the CPU resources. When switching TV on it goes up to 90-99%. Some process seem to run in the background or the DirectX doesnt run correctly. This only happens when comming out of S3 or S4. Before Standby everything is perfect.

The same error message shows up in the log. See attached.

Any other ideas?

Thanks, T

The error message is normal. It happens when the DX device is reset, so you don't need to worry about that. Next I would try to upgrade the drivers for the TV card, if that is possible.

    OK, Thanks for the reminder.

I have upgraded the ASUS GeForce driver from Version 8.something to 9.something and it looks MP works fine now after S4. (S3 now has a problem but that looks windows related: Screen stays black and system doesnt restore properly). Thanks for the pointing me in the right direction.

It seems I have another problem with shares from other computers or network storage device going to sleep and needs to get "reactivated" with explorer before MP can access them again. I will post another thread for that.

    Thanks again, T.
