Hi I am not sure if there is a setting for this or if I should make a request.

I use a Logitech remote (which mimicks the Microsoft MCE remote) which I have set to standby my HTPC when I finish watching TV. The problem is that if the HTPC is recording a show or is scheduled to record in a couple minutes time, the standby command overrides the currently recording show (or the one scheduled to start shortly).

Is there an option, or can one be made that I can set MP to disregard any shutdown/standby command IF it is currently recording a show or scheduled to record one within 10 minutes of the record start time? Then once the recording has finished it can complete the standby/shutdown command?

Use the built-in Powerscheduler plugin to 'suspend' your PC after 'x' minutes of inactivity at the Home screen.
FYI. I have mine set to 6 minutes idle time to suspend and to wake up 5 minutes before the start of a recording.

I got that set, but my main problem is not wanting to standby the HTPC while it's recording (whether it be a manual recording or half way through a scheduled one that started while I was already watching TV) a show.

Also, I know power scheduler will wake the HTPC up for scheduled recording (I have this set, works good). I do not believe however that if you standby the HTPC once Power Scheduler has woken up the HTPC for a recording that Power Scheduler is smart enough to re-awaken the HTPC to resume recording.

I know I can disable the Logitech remote from shutting down the HTPC, but then the PC will not go to standby as the last screen it will be on will be the LiveTV/My TV screen, and Power Scheduler needs to be at the home screen to standby the PC. And as I need this to be "wife" proof asking my wife to go to the MP home screen each time before she shuts the TV off is not what I want to do and she will most likely not want to do it or remember it either.

I'd like the feature to do this; Say you are in the middle of a recording (whether it be a manually started one or one started from Power Scheduler) and you want to standby the HTPC as you are going to bed, you press the standby button but with this new feature MP now realises it's recording and does not standby the HTPC. Instead it flags the standby somewhere in MP, waits for the recording (or if you have scheduled back to back shows, recordings) to finish then standbys the HTPC once all recordings are complete regardless of what screen you are on in MP.

How Power Scheduler standbys ONLY when it's at the home screen is good, and works perfectly for scheduled programs, but for the above it's not effective as MP will most likely be left at the MyTV screen. The feature would need to be a seperate option/plugin.

I am guessing this is not available so I might post this in the requests section.

I have configured my Remote's "off" button to send the PC to the Home Screen. I could/should configure it further to turn of the TV after 6 minutes as well.
Now my wife just presses "off" and the PC goes to the Home screen and turns off (standby) after 6 minutes. Note: MP keeps recording whilst at the Homescreen and the PC only turns off 5 minutes after a recording has finished.
From memory PowerScheduler can shut the PC down from any screen (in TV2 at least) but it's probably best at the Home screen.
PowerScheduler only wakes a PC for a recording if it shuts the PC down in the first place. If you shutdown the PC, PowerScheduler will not wake the PC.

    Hi

I just did that also, seems to be %50 though at the moment. I got Power Scheduler to suspend after 3 minutes and I set my remote power button to take me to the home screen using the MCE replacement plugin.

The command works, so the PC goes to the home screen (confirmed by remote controlling the PC to verify), but it doesn't always suspend even 5 min after the 3 min setting is up. Maybe a bug with power scheduler? Who knows, I will have a play with it tomorrow morning.

You need a fairly recent version of MP (less then 3 weeks old approx.) as PowerScheduler had a bug where it skipped some recording types. There was another bug or two but, if not all have been fixed in recent SVNs and 02.3.0 RC1.

PowerScheduler may not be suspending if you have timeshifting on at the Home screen(?) You can tell if it is running as a small TV window would be running/displaying on the Home screen. Try pressing 'b' at the Home screen to turn off timshifting.
