Re: This is a turd.

Thanks! I think this is exactly what I need!

And to the rest:

:sorry: I was pissed when I missed 2 shows last night and needed to vent. In retrospect, with the exception of TVserver problems, I've been very happy with MP. Also, for reference, I'm using MediaPortalSetup_1.1.0_RC-2_rev25546.

What the hell does this have to do with me being American? Don't you have some sheep to "tend" to?

Two things:

1) we don't have any developers on NA - so the tv side is just done blindly for ATSC
2) michael moore might have been right

btw. sheeps don't like me. I tried.

1) That was intended for 2BitSculptor
2) Michael Moore is never right. He's a commy bastard that hates his country.

It would be usefult for fellow americans to post the logs and a proper error report so we could have at least a change to try to fix the bug(s).

I would also like very much to have the logs (as clean as possible) so we can at least try to fix it.

Sorry ... was out consoling the sheep... they miss your witty humor :D:D:D

I feel the ATSC aspect of MP TV-Server is very stable. I haven't had issue with it for a year, since SiliconDust worked out a stable solution for MP. My HDHomerun tuners work flawlessly for OTA SD and HD, and as long a the SchedulesDirect pluggin is updated and functional for each MP version, I am happy and (especially) the wife is happy.

While MP 1.0.2 is working for me at this time (with only a few inconveniences I can deal with) I can wait for 1.1 stable. There are still a few issues in the tracker I'm waiting to be resolved before I feel comfortable with updating my HTPC.

Also, welcome to the MediaPortal community.

    best regards (honestly)

    Chuck

    In retrospect mister american.

You are "venting" on a RELEASE CANDIDATE version 2. which clearly states you are not encouraged to use this in production environment (it is clearly mentioned before you download) .
You should use STABLE release 1.0.2

Hence the complains you have are just another bugreport .. which should include logs.. this way the next RC (still Release CANDIDATE) can be improved, even for sheepy americans :D

    Re: This is a turd.

Funny. I found it to be the other way around. I've been getting paided to do linux "stuff" for years, been using it since it came out. I still have some SLS floppies laying around and a linux tar ball for the Amiga 3000.. some where. I pretty much have forgotten more about linux that most people know and I never could get mythtv to work right. I beat it over the head for 3 days.

Finally I said %$#* it and stuck MP out there. I had it up and working in less than an hour, a couple hours later it I had it working just like i wanted. And that was 1.13 something, I think. Now its not perfect, every now and then something doesn't work quite right when a new relase comes out and they fix it. My biggest grip with it is sometimes a my favorite skin will not work with the new release but that is about it.

Look its free software and if you don't like it, it's not like you actually paid for anything, just move on.

    Too much Caffeine!
I agree about the RC2 point - it's RELEASE CANDIDATE, there's going to be bugs... That's why there's a stable release also..!
btw. sheeps don't like me. I tried.
    Tried what ?!?

I'm always shocked when I hear of problems like the OP mentions. I had a few deinterlacing issues with 1.0x, but ever since I upgraded to 1.1x and windows 7 I haven't had any issues hardly at all. The WAF factor is at nearly 100% and I couldn't be happier.

I use a silicondust hd homerun for atsc hd and in nearly two years, media portal has missed exactly 1 recording.

What's with all the US/American jabs?

    Is that better?
