I have just replaced the cables all the way from the dish to the recievers with brand new once, and there is no real difference in signal strength/quality on the transponders where it finds channels. My concern is that there are soo many transponders where there is no signal at all.
As far as I get the dish has to be correctly alligned, though a bit of adjusting for optimal signal might be needed. The reason why I think it has to be correct is because it has fixed positions for the LNBs on a rail and after adjusting I find Hotbird on the LNB expected and scanning without Diseqc I find the channels expected on each LNB. My concern is the vast difference between the amount of channels found with my old "working" switch and the newer 4-1 switches.
I have a feeling that it somehow either is "loosing contact" with the LNB or starts reading from a different ini file. Any thoughts?
I am not sure if the files used to be .txt or not but I remember removing transponders from them so that it wouldnt scan transponders that wasnt even on the satelite just to save some time. But this was a few years ago and the files back then where combined for some satelites.
I have updated the satelite list before scaning so that should be ok and I am keeping it simple, no S2 tuning. I will do a test with FastSatFinder tonight or tomorrow to see what it gives.
Would there be a way to change LNB settings for several channels at a time? In that case I could scan each individual LNB then connect the switch and change the settings, or?
Have you ever tried to scan without switch to see if you find more channels that way?

I have played around with the scanning again and I think I am on to something but I am not completly sure. What I did was to only change the satelite setting and scaning the LNBs one by one set to Hotbird without changing Diseqc settings. The scan as far as I see comes back identical, meaning that when I scan one LNB with the correct settings for satelite it might go through half the scan before finding anythin. When set to Hotbird and scaning any LNB I get a signal from the first transponder and what looks like the amount of channels found on the actual Hotbird. In other words It looks like its not actually changing LNB but just scanning the same one with different transponder lists.
Could this be correct and if so, what to do about it?

Hi HappySwede, I've been away for a few days so hence the delay in responding, sorry.
Would there be a way to change LNB settings for several channels at a time?
    Not that I'm aware of.
Have you ever tried to scan without switch to see if you find more channels that way?
No I haven't, and I haven't had a need to either because I only scan the LNBs/transponders with the channels that I want to receive (advanced tuning options). I found that less work than scanning all LNBs/transponders and afterwards deleting channels I'm not interested in.

With regards to your last post, I would agree that from what you are describing it seems as if your diseqc switch isn't working properly, especially since you also said that if you scan the LNBs directly without the diseqc switch you are able to find all channels you expect to find. Apart from trying another switch and/or dvb-s card I have no other suggestion.

Hi Again. Thanks for your reply. Ive been away myself for a while. I have given up for this time. After trying with two different decoders and four different switches I have a feeling there is something else wring but I just cant deal with it for the moment. But if anyone has any ideas on this I would be happy to hear about it.
