This has been imporoved quite a bit.... Once its all said in done. it used to leave around 450MB of ram on the TV server... now it's down to 140. But it does use quite a bit of ram while it grabs the EPG. If you only had 1 GB of ram, you might be pushing it.

oh that sounds much better just wondering though when it grabs the epg it puts it all into ram untill its done? Couldn't it just send it to the db as it gets it?

Can someone help me to get Bev EPG. In other programs i never did put it to a channel to get the EPG but i did have EPG data so this is very confusing i cant figure out which channel i put it to and where do i do this ? inside of Mediaportal or in the tvserver? on lnygsat it says tp 9 12341 i check whats on 12341 and its two porn channels which is a strange place to put epg on.I tried to put it on that channel in mediaportal and in manual control and clicked refresh EPG didn't know if it was working but said grabbing EPG for a few minutes and then stopped but it still didn't show epg in Mediaportal.

Teriff, yep the 9-day epg is grabbed by tvserver.
Just seek through the thread to find out which transponder you have to tune to ;)

Thanks, I just wanted confirmation as I thought I had the EPG grabber set to the correct transponder, but I still wasn't getting the EPG.

I turned off the setting to filter for English in TV EPG grabber section of TVServer config and it now works. Is this a bug, perhaps??

    No, that's not a bug.
Dish/Bev simply don't send the language descriptor ;)

Makes sense. I wondered about that.

Might I make a suggestion to change it so the language filters are ignored if there is no language information? If someone (like myself) doesn't know the intricacies of the DVB stream, they won't be messed up by this feature.

    Thanks for the response.

    ^^^ That was your 1000th post! :)

I am getting the 9-day guide for bev, it has been working well for many months now. I was using SVN 16519 for a long time, and the PPV info was pulled in correctly.

Sometime between the SVN 16519 I was running, and 17345 the guide information for the PPV Vu! channels went generic, so no title or movie information. Now it just says 'Pay Per View (Info)', and its behaving the same way with the newest SVNs I've tried 18550+.

I set my EPG grabbing while idle enabled with a timeout of 60 and Refresh of 3600 and I'm having no EPG issues now. I only have "EPG grabbing while idle" enabled. Everything else is unchecked.
