I'm sure this probably has been asked 100 times, However I have spent the last 4 days searching the internet and this Forum for a way to get M.P. to recognize my Dish Network IR signal, so I can change channels for recerding while I'm away. What I have for Equipment to do this is as follows. I have a HP media center remote with the blaster/reciever twin port I'm sure its a normal MCE remote setup. I have also a serial port IR module also, I want to stay away from this and just use the media center blaster if possible. I have tried the MCE replacement plugin and it records the IR but wont change channels when I test. I tried My blaster and get same result. I do remember a long time ago using Winlirc I think to record the dish signals and having to edit them since they repeat the codes and casue the recorded code not to work. Does anyone have a solution to this I would be greatly appreciated.:D

I can't help you with the remote part, as I am using the MCE replacement plugin to let me use a Hauppauge remote (wife acceptance factor - exact same remote and setup in living room and upstairs). But I am using a Dish receiver PVR successfully upstairs (mac mini w/ external tuner and MCE IR receiver/blaster). And that's all you really need if it's about changing channels. I think.

Assuming you have MCE replacement plugin install and enabled, go into its configuration (through plugins of MP config).

Go to IR commands tab. New, enter a digit 0-9 and learn. Then use the Dish remote to teach it the number. (I assume it's an IR remote, and not one of the funky 2 TV where one is radio and one is IR...). Repeat to teach all digits 0-9 from the Dish remote.

Click the External Channels button. For each external command digit, pick IR/0 through IR/9 from the list. This tells MCE replacement how to talk to the settop box. The other settings I am using are:
250 ms
NO to pre-change
NO to Send Select
Channel digits: simple
blaster port: port_2 (whichever the blaster is plugged in to)
blaster speed medium
repeat count 0
repeat delay 250

Then you can use the Test button to try sending commands to the Dish to make sure it works OK.

Still need Dishnetwork 301 311 501 codes

I have tried the above steps ,again, and I can control My TV, VCR, DVD players etc. Just wont record a dish Network 311 Code. I know someone out there has figured out how to edit the code to make it work or if someone has working codes for a 111,301,311,501,2700,2800,2900 reciever they all use same remote codes this I know for sure as I installed dish for 6 years. If anyone has this code that works please upload it somewhere and put a link. Thanks

If anyone can tell me what files to send (used my MCE Replacement's IR blaster), I'd be happy to send mine. I am using a 501 so should work for you.

Advice about what file to send, anyone?

Have you tried the Dish 301 preset in MCE Replacement plugin?

Maybe Dish 301 isn't included in the version you have, if not, try the attached files.

If that doesn't work, wait for the next release of IR Server Suite or MCE Replacement Plugin, they will have a much improved blasting accuracy.

    Cheers,
