Hi.

I am new to "Moving Pictures" and have problems displaying the movie titles.

In my filesystem I sorted the files this way:

\James Bond\James Bond 1 - Dr. No.avi
\James Bond\James Bond 2 - Goldfinger.avi
...
So everything is easy to find...

Now, when I use "Moving Pictures" the imdb (or whatever) - title is used instead.
Therefore all James Bond films are spread and I do not want to edit each item manually to fix this.
How do you prevent this?

Is it possible to display the Filename instead of the title?
I found the option to sort the list by "file path" - but no option to display the filename...

Thank you for your help,
1graser

Your easy solution would be to use the IMDb+ scraper.

Result would then be as follows:

    MovPic.Scraper.IMDb+.png

(and yes the entire James Bond series is also included by default)

Follow the link in my signature, and if you have trouble figuring things out let me know on what aspects (so I can improve on the explanation). I'm currently working on many upgrades to the scraper and an MPEI package to make installation easier, but you should be able to figure the instructions out for manual installation, and if not let me know :D

PS: Ideally you start the import process over with IMDb+ scraper, but you can also edit the scraper ID to match that of the imdb.com you already used. This is all explained in the thread, but if you just started out with your collection and don't have an extensive date-added history that you want to retain, then starting over will cause the least amount of headaches.

    Thank you for your answer!

    This looks very interesting.
Unfortunately you currently support only English and my titles are mainly in German.
Probably no problem for my, but for my family.

Do you plan to add multi-language support?

    Best regards,

Yes, I'm currently working on adding 8 languages, including german (but not on title).

But you are in luck, a fellow German developer loved my script and turned it into German for title as well.

AW: Display filename instead of title

    Thanks for your support!
(I posted my question in the Filminfo+ thread)

What I want to achieve is:

The filename should be displayed instead of the title.
(e.g. Instead of "Alien: Resurrection" (from Database) it should display "Alien 4 - Resurrection" (from Filesystem))

    Is this possible??

    Thanks and best regards,

Good job Rochess... I was going to say thanks when u helped me on IRC when I noticed that...but my server crashed that night (where mirc is) and have been out of town ever since. so THANKS and GREAT work. That is the only new feature i really noticed and was like OMG FINALLY I do not have to remember what name is what..cant wait to see more "difficult" series look like, like Fast and Furious.

I wondered what happened, because right after you went off to run the mass-import, you dropped off and never returned. If you go to the forum thread of the IMDb+ scraper (link in my signature), there is a collapsed section at the end of the first post that shows all the movies currently supported in the rename database.

The v0.95 database contains 833 movie entries, and should cover most if not all of the series you might have in your collection.

But I'm constantly adding new movies (up to 860 right now). I probably should release the new version, but I've been working on the scraper itself as well to add multi-language support and make the plugin auto-update the scraper when a new version is released. This update system will also cover the rename database file, so it will make it really easy. An MPEI package to make installation of the plugin+scraper will then be the pièce de résistance.

But it is a lot of work, and my C# skills are not very well tuned, so it is a slow process, but I'm getting there (with lot of help from other developers).
