Display immediately sleeps when video ends (1 Viewer)

The title basically says it all. I just switched over to XBMC and believe I have enough configured that I can stick with MP. However, we watched a couple shows last night and they play all the way through just fine, but immediately after the video ends, the display goes to sleep. If I hit a button on the remote, then the display wakes up. I would consider this a minor annoyance as I don't see it harming anything or preventing any functionality as of yet.

Any ideas? I don't see anything like it after searching the forums, so maybe it is a pretty easy fix or a setting I've missed.

I guess you should disable "Turn monitor off after xx" in windows power management.

Well, if that really is the only way to stop it, then I'd have to say it is a bug. Of course when I'm not using the system I want it to sleep to save power, so I don't really want to turn that off. However, this isn't a problem in other media center software.

Are you saying the same thing happens to you so you've turned that off? Or are you just offering a guess of a possible workaround?

Yes, the same happened to me until I turned it off.
Maybe you can test the PowerScheduler++ Plugin to save power and send your system to sleep. That's the way I'm doing this right now. After 5 mins of idle the system goes to sleep.

I have figured out that it is only happening with TV-Series is playing a show. If I haven't touched it while watching a TV show, then as soon as the show stops playing, the screen immediately goes to sleep. But, if I watch a movie with the Moving Pictures plugin, then I don't have the same problem. I could post this over at the TV Series plugin forum now that I figured that out, but I thought I'd follow up on this thread since it is already started.

Would be nice to know how you are using MP, ie with or without TV, if without, then by all means use Windows Power settings, but leave the turn monitor off set to never, mine is and never had a problem, set to go into standby after 10 minutes of inactivity.

If using TV, then the M$ power settings should be completely disabled, and the TVServer powerscheduler and its MP client powerscheduler plugins should be used.

I have the same problem. I use MP on my regular PC and have a third display (the TV) hooked up for it. As soon as a video ends, the Monitor immediately turns off. This is a rather odd behavior (I don't use PS or PS++).

The only display hooked up to it is a projector via HDMI, so TV.

I hadn't seen instructions before saying not to use M$ settings when in this config. I'll do some reading on that and see if that fixes the complaint. Being that only TVSeries has the issue, I still think the plugin has a problem, but I can see how moving to the MP power settings could bypass the problem. Thanks for the input.

I think when watching recordings... your not using mouse or keyboard.. and computer tries to dimm display, but while watching recording or movie in full screen, mediaportal prevents windows to dimm display.. and when it stops watching, it let it dimm it.. I quess mediaportal should keep preventing to dimm display when stop showing the recorded program or movie, the time what is set at windows powershedule registery.
