Display mkv chapter names? (1 Viewer)

Not sure if this is a TV-Series or skin issue. I'm using TVSeries with Monocrome to play mkv files that I created. The mkv files contain chapters that I have named. I can skip forward and backward to each chapter no problem. Is there a way to display the chapter names and then select?

Well, I haven't found any simple way to achieve that, except through the Matroska icon in the system tray (there you find the complete list). Only issue (not a small one), this works only if not in full screen...

By the way, I don't know how you skip chapters, personnally I have found an "elegant" way to do it (ie without right-clicking) with my remote control by creating additional keyboard shortcuts when in Video Full Screen mode and assigning them to F7 and F8 (same as in DVD view). Hope this helps those wondering how to achieve this.

I don't know if it is elegant, but I hit "i" twice on my Hauppague remote which brings up menu. One of the choices is to skip to the next chapter

Well, hitting the "i" button on your remote is actually like right-clicking and requires an additional step to skip to prev/next chapters. The method I propose actually let you hit the "next" or "prev" button on your remote and skip without going through an intermediary menu (ie works like on a DVD).

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but if you have a MCE remote, just hit the "next" and "prev" buttons (right above ffwd and rew) on the remote. This changes the chapters.

And heres another vote for somehow displaying the chapter names in the player directly...

By the way, how did you name the chapters? My mode of operation is that for every blu ray I have, I rip it using eac3to followed by reencoding via x264. Although eac3to can extract the chapters, it only includes position and not chapter name. I also dont seem to find any chapter names listed on the packaging for the blu ray.

Do you make up your own chapter names?

There is a program called "Chapter Grabber" (if you google it) which attempts to download chapter names from the internet. I have just started using it myself, but so far it seems to do what it claims.

As far as skipping chapters in mkv files: you can always try using an external media player - I use Zoom Player in MP and have no problem skipping chapters with a single button press, that coincides with chapter navigation in DVDs (nor any problems, for that matter, with mapping any other navigation type to my Harmony remote).
