    TV - HTPC Connection: Component

    Hi,

I have a Winfast PxPVR2200 tuner card that has S-Video, Composite and Component input. If I were to connect the component out of my STB to the Component input of the tuner card would it work in MP? I tried it and did not get it to work. Due to the problems I have been having with the IR Blasting of my MCE remote I am planning to move over to SageTV (How I wish I could save the $140 - 1 server and 2 clients and instead contribute part of it to the MP community ).

I noticed in SageTV that Component input works brilliantly. I just want to know if I made a mistake during setup or is it that MP does not support Component input!

    Thanks,
    Srikanth

I have a PVR-150 and it uses component from my STB and works great.

Are you setting your channel source on TV setup to CVBS#1?

Yes, I did. It still did not work. I must have done something wrong. I have now uninstalled MP in favor of SageTV for testing purposes. I will reinstall MP in a few days again.

You are confusing composite and component. The PVR-150 does not support component (which is far better than composite).

Analogue quality fir TV cards goes: composite -> s-video -> (SCART/RGB ->) component

Threadstarter: I know that the Hauppauge HD-PVR is (unofficially) supported. The problem is that I don't believe any team members have analogue cards with component connection, so I can't say much about what is supported.

Please update the thread with you findings, and including logfiles would be nice. I'll see if I can have a dev have a look at this.

Oops!! Sorry. I missed catching it. I have a PVR-150 on my other HTPC setup running VMC and I know that it does not have Component (Should have caught it).

I actually have two Analog cards both PCI-Express cards with Component inputs. One is Winfast PxPVR2200 with a hardware encoder while the other is a K-Media one with no hardware encoder. I have tried with PxPVR2200 and there does not seem to be any option for selecting component input in MP setup.
