Does MP Self update? (1 Viewer)

Was reading a thread about DVD's not playing for some ppl. I downloaded the stable build a few weeks ago and DVD's that were working fine then, don't play now. I noticed this comment from a portal DEV in another thread:

Ok, setting the speed of CD/DVD is now disabled as a default.
try with your DVDs that failed previoulsy.

So does this just relate to "Latest Builds", or does MP update itself in anyway if running on a machine with an internet connection?

no it doesn't self update

that comment relates to an SVN build that you have to manually install.

Figured asmuch. Just very weird that on two of my MP machines, a networked movie that used to play on both, no longer will. Haven't changed anything intentionally.
