Hi everybody,
I'm having a strange observation here:
I have all my music tagged with data from MusicBrainz.org using the Picard tagger. I've set it to remove all tags previously contained in my mp3s. There is NO genre information contained in any single mp3 in my collection. I've checked this with mp3tag.
I deleted my MediaPortal music database and did a clean import of my newly tagged mp3s.
Then I started MediaPortal and went into the music section. When I changed to the genre-view, I expected it to be empty. However, there were a few genres displayed. When I chose a genre, some albums are displayed and within these albums very few of my mp3s (even if I have the whole album, only one or two tracks are displayed).
I double checked in mp3tag to make sure there are no genre tags in the tracks that were displayed in genre-view - and there are NO genre tags.
There is only one difference in the tags between the tracks displayed in genre view and the ones not diplayed: The ones that are displayed have the user defined tag "MUSICIP PUID" set. My understanding was that this is just the "fingerprint" of the song, which is saved as tag. Is it possible that Mediaportal takes this tag while importing and retrieves some kind of genre during import? Does this have anything to do with the audioscrobbler plugin? configuration-logs attached when I deleted the music db, entered config and did the clean import of my music collection (but I didn't find anything unusual).
I'm happy for any help. Please let me know if you need anything else to investigate this.
Thanks and best regards,
Michael
