I've never used IRSS. I did try to get it working quite a few years ago without success. I just use native imon, and map mediaportal keys to remote keys in imon manager. IRSS to me seemed like something you would want if you wanted blaster capability (ie control a 3rd party set top box), so I didn't bother with it. I also gave up on minidisplay with this VFD a long time ago too. I turn imon frontview off and don't worry about it anymore. One thing this VFD does is basically barf when dxdiag is run on the system. Mediaportal Configuration does something similar to dxdiag when it loads, as it interrogates the system's configuration, and you (sometimes) hear the USB disconnect tone as it does it. The "delay for problem usb devices" option in minidisplay was one work around in that plugin for some versions of this VFD. In oither words, yes these VFD's (or certain versions of them) are problem USB devices. I'll also mention also that the imon drivers fix and break various things as they go from release to release, although for me, not running a VFD and just having a stable remote which doesn't repeat, the latest 8.05.0727 works well. Here's a link on avs forums that provides very detailed instructions on how to setup with a Harmony remote with imon. Normally, in imon you can just map remote keys to the "standard" Mediaportal shortcut keys (eg P=Play, B=stop R=Record etc). People did report some success with solving the repeating issue by using modified keyboard shortcuts with CTRL keys added to the command, as per this link. It is a bit of "completely rip imon apart and start again" approach. The imon software comes with a mediaportal.imo file that has most of the native functions mapped correctly to the standard keyboard shortcuts in mepo, so I tend to think that the rip n replace method is largely unnecessary, but as I say, some people did report success with using combination key presses to stop the repeating. There are no native keyboard shortcuts to these screens. EDIT: I should add the link above sets minidisplay up for an imon LCD, not the VFD. I just added the keyboard input plugin to my new mepo install and mapped the "My Videos", "My Music" etc buttons. Works like a charm.
