This is not a big problem really. But I am running media portal from a laptop, with a external hardrive connected to it which most of my tv-series are stored on. I also have some episodes stored on my laptop. So sometimes I run mediaportal wihtout having the external hardrive connected, and becouse of that, I have enabled "Don't clear local reference for missing local files on scan" so that the series on my external harddrive would not dissappear. All that is working fine, except for when I renamed some of my series, so that it keeps the references to the old files and finds the new ones. I think that it should not show the same episode twice, atleast if the media-info for the file is the same. So when MP-tvseries thinks that there are multiple instances of the same episode, it should only show one of them, the one that does exist. Or maybe if people actually have two different versions of the same episode, it should show both.

I totally agree with that. I'm having the same problems when inserting TV series DVDs.
And in this context I recognized another problem:
If you have different files containing the same episode but different languages or resolutions (normal/HD) there is made no difference between them.
Though the files have different filenames the chosen logo rules are used randomly for only one of them and the results are then assigned to the 'episodename' but not to the 'filename' (could that be changed?).
So every file gets an entry but shows the same logos. The result: in Mediaportal I don't know for sure which of those entries is HD or normal, english or german, stereo or 5.1, etc.
So I think it's a good idea to compare the media info; if main attributes like episodename, language, resolution, audio match only one reachable file is displayed, if not differentiable (by logos) entries are shown.
