Hello, at first sorry for my English and compliments for your software.
I use the software from 4 month and all work well but yesterday I have install the new driver for my video card, the ATI 8.12, and now I can play my video (divx, avi, mpg, mpeg,..) only in original source format. When I try to play them in an other zoom mode, like for example normal or stretch, I listen only the audio and the screen is black. If I change again in original source format evrythings work. The problem is that in this format the image is very small.

I don't know what ATI have changed from the previous version of their driver but I hope that you can help me to solve the problem.

I have already reinstall, mediaportal, but nothing change.

If I use another video player (for example window media player) evrything work correct.

In configuration's (direct show filter control) video render section try to use vmr9 Video Mixing Renderer

It was already in VMR9, but for try I have checked the EVR mode and now work.

So, the problem is solved.

I've this problem too, but inverted: no video in EVR mode (only original size), functioning in vmr9 mode.
Since vmr9 mode has less quality, could anyone of the coders investigate on it?
I own a ATI HD4870, Vista Ultimate. Tried with drivers 8.11 and 8.12, same result.

Obviously yes. No joy with EVR, only "original" mode displayed. Weird indeed.

News: reverting to ATI 8.10 solved all. Neither 8.11 nor 8.12 functions with Mediaportal zoom modes.
I'll try to send this issue to ATI team... but don't think that they do anything.

gdp nothing obvious here as no logs, when i refer to trying different codecs this does not refer to EVR or VMR9 mode but the actual codec you are using to view video/tv e.g. cyberlink, MPV, nvidia etc I use ATI 8.12 with MP and all works well with Cyberlink PDVD8 codec, i think there may be issues with MPV codec and you should try something else.

5Hundred: sorry I was too quick in reply... I tried four codecs: Cyberlink PDVD8, Dscaler, Intervideo, MPV.
However: can you explain why all works well with ATI 8.10 drivers, and the SAME codecs won't function with 8.11/8.12?
It seems to me an ATI driver problem...

Happy New Year to you too GDP, i'm stumped too as to why 8.10 works and newer drivers dont,

Does 8.12 work with another media player e.g. PowerDVD8? Also might be worth checking with Graphedit that the correct codec is being used by MP, find the Graphedit for Vista and then connect to the remote graph generated by MP to see whats going on. Are you using Hardware acceleration or not? What happens if you change this setting?
